I'm Laura Bertrand. Im 18 years old and I want to be a surgical nurse.  I have a great family that supports me in everything that I need and believe in.  My friends are also a big part of my life.  I love laughing and having a good time.  Like most, I do love meeting new people.  I am a helper in the girl's ministry team at my church.  I have a heart of encouragement and I am a social butterfly.  I love excersizing, shopping, music, hanging out, hunting, fishing, photography, and traveling.  I am known to my parents as a busy body :)

   When I became a Christian I had a lot of support from family, friends, and my amazing church God placed me in.  I grew up in a Christian home and so I grew up learning to serve God.  Last Year at a youth Disciple Now I realized God wanted me to work to better his kingdom.  I realized soon that I had a heart of missions and elders.  I began a missions class at my church and we go to the nursing home once or twice a month!  My friend went to Swaziland, Africa last summer with AIM and I took interest.  I have a heart for Europe.  So I thought Ireland would be a great place to start.  I've done one to two week mission trips before. So i'm a little nervous about a month away from home actually. I'm a home girl, but I know that God helps us grow out of our comfort zones.  I've worked with elders, children, all ages really. 

    I can't wait to see what God has in store for all of us for a month!  I am looking forward to getting to know all of you too.  I know that together we can make a great team and reach out to the rest of the world.  Ya'll are in my prayers.
